


ArmInfo. Deputy Minister of Justice of Armenia Anna Karapetyan discussed the possibility of extraditing convicts serving sentences in a country other than their own at a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Vahida Jalalzade.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry, in particular, the discussion concerned convicts serving sentences in Armenia who are citizens of Iran, as well as the transfer of Armenian citizens serving sentences in Iran.
During the meeting, the parties also highly appreciated the cooperation existing between the two countries in the areas of activity of the Ministries of Justice. In this regard, Karapetyan emphasized the importance of the visit of the Minister of Justice of Iran to Armenia in the near future at the invitation of the head of the Ministry of Justice, noting that this is another reason for strengthening cooperation and expanding contractual relations.
She also touched upon the activities of the Joint Commission of Armenia and Iran on Judicial and Legal Issues, noting the effectiveness of using the existing legal framework.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue effective cooperation.
