ArmInfo. Who convinced the Armenian authorities to take this catastrophic path, rejecting and hiding from the people the proposal for a peaceful settlement in 2019, thereby opening a direct path to war? This is the question asked by the representative of the Alternative Projects group, Vahe Hovhannisyan.
The expert drew attention to the fact that, according to the British press, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson used the political connections he acquired thanks to his position for personal purposes, to earn money.
Hovhannisyan added that this person (possibly along with other people of the same level) convinced the Ukrainian authorities not to accept the Istanbul Agreements, to continue the war, which resulted in the current destroyed state, millions of victims and the crippled lives of tens of millions.
According to him, these people are indifferent to the lives of other people, other people's grief is not among their priorities.
"It is obvious that other Johnsons convinced the current Armenian authorities to make decisions that led us to the tragedy. Who convinced the Armenian authorities? To reject and hide from the people the proposal for a peaceful settlement in 2019, thereby opening a direct path to war. To reject the proposal for an early end to the war.
To recognize Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, after which the exodus of Armenians became a technical problem. These are links in one tragic, but logical chain. Of course, there are many visible and invisible decisions between them, but these three form the core of the tragedy," Hovhannisyan stated.
At the same time, he is sure that the question of "Who convinced?" is of vital importance for the Armenian people. "First of all, it is the key to understanding what happened, how our tragedy became possible. But it is also very important for understanding how to move forward, how to organize the post-war restoration of the state and society, how to avoid the further development of this bloody scenario, which foreshadows the loss of statehood and the inevitable Armenian reservation," Hovhannisyan continued.
At the same time, the expert is sure that just as another unilateral decision was signed in the summer heat, during a vacation, without any public and political discussion, without consensus and, of course, without resistance, other decisions will be signed that will formulate the next stages of the Armenian tragedy.
"And it is a shameful failure of our political thought and current formats that in 4-5 years they have not been able to formulate, filter the most important issues, make them accessible to their own people, turn them into a public demand.
Behind these issues, beyond politics and even complex geopolitical programs, there is a huge feeling, an endless human tragedy. After all, it is this feeling that will formulate the unyielding demand for change, but also record the emptiness of today's political thinking. The task of the forces claiming a new government is not just to turn this feeling into a subject for mourning, but to find political solutions that take it into account," Hovhannisyan concluded in his Facebook post.
