ArmInfo. Andranik Chamicyan, who was detained for two months in a case of alleged preparation of terrorism, better known as the "airsoft case", has been transferred to house arrest. This was reported by Chamicyan's lawyer Ruben Melikyan on his Facebook page.
"At 21:40, after the expiration of a two-month prison term, the youngest political prisoner, 18-year-old Andranik Chamicyan, was released from the Nubarashen penal colony and transferred home to serve a two- month house arrest. Freedom to all political prisoners. Freedom to our brother prisoners," Melikyan wrote.
On July 9, representatives of the Armenian law enforcement agencies conducted searches in the homes of a number of members of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun, including Gegham Manukyan, a member of parliament from the opposition faction "Armenia". Later, the press service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia reported that seven people were detained in the framework of the case on the preparation of a "terrorist act", including Andranik Chamichyan, a member of the youth wing of the party. All the detainees, except for Chamichyan, were released after 48 hours. At the same time, the Dashnaktsakans are sure that the detention of their comrades is another political order. The young man has serious health problems.
