


ArmInfo.Karen Sargsyan, Governor of Gegharkunik region, has discussed with Ambassador of France to Armenia Olivier Decottignies the implemented and ongoing programs in education, healthcare, tourism, culture and agriculture in the region within the framework of decentralized cooperation between Gegharkunik region and the Isere department, as well as the achieved results.
As reported by the press service of the regional administration, Sargsyan touched upon the upcoming visits related to hiking tourism and agricultural development in Gegharkunik region through the introduction of new technologies and sharing the French experience in the country. The governor also highlighted programs aimed at developing the region's infrastructure, that support the tourism sector's growth. Decottignies praised the long-standing cooperation between the two countries and assured that the French side will continue to uphold its principles and implement joint programs in the Gegharkunik region, introducing new ideas, attracting various organizations, enterprises and non- governmental organizations, which will greatly enhance friendly ties and mutual contacts between the peoples of the two countries. The meeting also addressed other potential economic and cultural cooperation opportunities.
