
ArmInfo. Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MESCS), who is currently on a working visit to Japan as part of a delegation led by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, visited the first international TUMO center in Asia.
As the press service of the Ministry recalled, the center in the Japanese city of Takasaki was opened in July 2024 and operates in partnership with Gunma Prefecture at the largest conference center in the region (GE Messe Gunma). Andreasyan emphasized that the Center's opening contributes to expanding access to the educational model and disseminating Armenia's successful experience. Discussions about future cooperation with the center's management were also held. Particularly, with plans to establish new Tumo boxes and centers in the Japanese cities of Maebashi and Kusatsu.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation recalled that the opening of TUMO Gunma took place during the World EXPO 2025 in Osaka. Currently, the center accepts about 3,000 students per year, and after its full launch, it will be able to serve about 9,400 students per year.
"Today, there are already 11 international Tumo centers in various countries of the world: including France, Portugal, Germany, and Albania. The geography will continue to expand and during this year, 9 more TUMO network centers will be launched in Argentina, the USA, Holland, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Portugal," the Ministry concluded.
