
ArmInfo. Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia Arpine Sargsyan discussed new areas of cooperation in the law enforcement sphere between the countries and joint programs at a meeting with US Ambassador Kristina Kvien.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs, in particular, the parties touched upon cooperation in the field of patrol service, criminal police, and the organization of events aimed at developing police protection and the educational complex of the Ministry.
The Ambassador noted that the United States highly values the strategic relations formed between Armenia and the United States, and touched upon the effective cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the American Embassy. The parties also emphasized the importance of the Washington meetings on August 8, noting their significance in terms of new areas of strategic cooperation between the countries.
In turn, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs thanked the United States for its ongoing support for police reforms, noting that tangible results have been achieved thanks to this cooperation. During the meeting, the ambassador and the minister also touched upon the steps necessary to establish a cyber lab, retrain police officers, and other issues of mutual interest. Recall that on August 8, a trilateral meeting of the leaders of the United States, Armenia, and Azerbaijan was held at the White House. Within the framework of this meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, US President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint declaration aimed at resolving the conflict between Yerevan and Baku.
