ArmInfo. Azerbaijan has officially announced that it has already completed the registration of more than 100,000 so-called "Western Azerbaijanis" for resettlement to Armenia, and this registration is ongoing. This was reported by the former Ombudsman of Armenia, human rights activist Arman Tatoyan.
"In other words, the government of Azerbaijan continues to promote the "Western Azerbaijan" program in the same vein, which implies the entire territory of the Republic of Armenia. The ultimate goal of this program is a sharp change in the demographic picture in Armenia and the complete occupation of Armenia.
Moreover, according to official data, 250-300 people contact the office of the "Western Azerbaijan" organization every day and express a desire to voluntarily register," the human rights activist notes.
According to him, the most dangerous thing is that they are registering not only those who left Armenia in 1988-1991, but also the descendants of those who were "displaced" before that.
"This is yet another proof that the Azerbaijani government does not intend to stop the policy of occupation of Armenia, and it will continue as long as there is a government in the Republic of Armenia that puts the preservation of political power above state interests, as long as self-government and party rule are established in Armenia.
Let me remind you that the Azerbaijani government continues to issue identity cards (future passports), which indicate the place of birth (origin) of a person - "Western Azerbaijan" and one of the settlements of the Republic of Armenia," Tatoyan wrote, publishing a photo of one of these certificates.
