ArmInfo. There are few people who are ready to fight, but, nevertheless, the Armenian people consider Artsakh to be Armenian land. They do not agree with the present situation and believe that Artsakh must be returned. Garnik Danielyan, an MP from the Armenia faction, told journalists during a large rally of unity in honor of Artsakh's Independence Day.
"Our task is to ensure more active public involvement in these processes. Nikol Pashinyan will not leave power quietly, he has usurped everything. He is not the kind of leader willing for free and fair elections. He has organized a campaign against the Church, turned the Armenian Electric Networks into the headquarters of the Civil Contract, and imprisoned those who oppose him, " Danielyan noted, adding that Armenia has become a country where a person with opposition views is persecuted. The parliamentarian also emphasized that the Armenian authorities are still fulfilling the demands of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem and making endless concessions. If earlier the opposition previously called the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020 a capitulation, then in today's realities, this document, according to Danielyan, already seems acceptable and preferable. He did not rule out that after some time the Washington agreements would also seem desirable. According to the deputy, the narrative coming from the "Civil Contract" (the ruling party - Ed.) only indicates that they intentionally went to war, with the intention of losing, in order to implement preagreed concessions.
In a conversation with journalists, the leader of the opposition faction "I Have Honor", Hayk Mamijanyan, noted that it is currently impossible for the Artsakh people to return home, but this does not mean that this issue should not be on the agenda of Armenia's foreign policy.
He referred to the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group as another concession to the demands of the Azerbaijani side. In this regard, Mamijanyan pointed out that the Prime Minister of Armenia went back on his word when the parties only initialed the peace agreement instead of signing it, despite promising the opposite. The MP called Pashinyan's main opposition comes from the Armenian people. According to Mamijanyan, Nikol Pashinyan says that people can hold rallies if they do not agree with his chosen course, in the case when they detain dissenters, use flashbangs and noise grenades against protesters, and use brutal violence.
Note that the rally on Freedom Square began with the anthems of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh. Following this, those gathered honored the memory of the fallen heroes with a minute of silence and participated in a Universal Prayer.
