China supports accession of Armenia, Azerbaijan to SCO - president of  China 

ArmInfo.  The PRC supports the accession of Azerbaijan and Armenia to the SCO as permanent members. Currently, these countries have the status of dialogue partners of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This was announced on August 31 on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation  Organization (SCO) summit by Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping.

Jinping made it clear that the SCO will develop both intensively and  extensively.

And already on September 1, Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping said at the  SCO summit in Tianjin that China will support the further development  of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, including financially.

The PRC Chairman noted that today the SCO has already become the  world's largest regional organization with a total economy of $30  trillion and cooperation in more than 50 areas. "At the same time,  with the growing unpredictability of the international situation, the  growth of instability and uncertainty factors, the SCO bears an even  greater responsibility for maintaining peace and development in the  region," Xi is confident, CGTN reports.

He proposed to further develop the organization on the principles of  unity while maintaining differences, mutual benefit, simplification  of trade and investment procedures, equality and fairness, a  practical approach and efficiency. He called for the opening of the  SCO Universal Center for Countering Security Threats and the  establishment of the SCO Development Bank as soon as possible.
