
ArmInfo. The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan welcomed the Ambassador and discussed the recent visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkyan to the Republic of Armenia. She expressed confidence that a number of the signed documents would contribute to the development of cooperation between Armenia and Iran in arts, cultural heritage, tourism and crafts, as well as the implementation of new program initiatives.
Speaking about the planned visit of the RA delegation to Iran on September 6-8, the parties emphasized the importance of bilateral meetings, and the signing of new documents on bilateral cooperation in education, science, culture and sports, as a new opportunity to strengthen the centuries-old ties between the two countries.
She noted that on September 6, a concert celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra will take place in the Persepolis complex in Iran. "This unique concert will not only promote Armenia's cultural heritage, but also mark a significant moment in Armenian- Iranian cultural relations," the Minister said.
During the meeting, the ambassador announced that he is concluding his mission in the Republic of Armenia in September. "I have been and will remain a friend of the Armenian people and will leave Armenia with warm memories," the ambassador said, expressing gratitude for the close cooperation in culture and education. Zhanna Andreasyan also thanked the Ambassador for his efforts to enhance the long- standing ties between the two countries during his tenure.
