


ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Court has refused to halt the criminal prosecution of the third president of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, for one of the epizodes. The court hearing is taking place on August 26.
The lawyer has filed a petition to stop the criminal prosecution of Serzh Sargsyan in the case involving land plots on Isakov Street in Yerevan, taking into account the illegal methods of obtaining evidence. The criminal case involving Serzh Sargsyan concerns to the alienation of land plots on Isakov Avenue. Particularly, a 11-hectare plot of land on Isakov Avenue, listed on the balance sheet of the Ministry of Defense, was allegedly sold in 2005-2006, when Serzh Sargsyan was the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia. The criminal case alleges that these lands were sold through direct sale at a price well below its market value.
