MIA:  Visa liberalization process between Armenia and EU is in active  phase

ArmInfo. Work on visa liberalization between Armenia and the EU is in an active phase, as noted in a statement issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.

The ministry recalled that on September 9, 2024, in a joint statement  was made by Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan and  Vice-President of the European Commission and  Commissioner for  European Way of Life Margaritis Schinas, announcing the official  start of negotiations on visa liberalization with the EU.

The Armenian Interior Ministry added that on December 11 of the same  year, a meeting was held in Yerevan between  Deputy Director General  for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission Johannes  Luchner and Minister of Interior Arpine Sargsyan,  marking the start  of the operational phase of the dialogue on visa liberalization  between Armenia and the EU. The Ministry presented in detail the work  done during this period, including the preparation of the Action Plan  for Armenia.

"The Action Plan prepared by the European Commission is currently  being coordinated with  EU Member States and will be officially  submitted to Armenia in the fall of 2025. Armenia views the Visa  Liberalization Action Plan as a strategic basis for its reforms in   migration mobility and public security.  Armenia is committed to  implementing these reforms  to ensure dignified and easy travel of  its citizens to the European Union," the Armenian Interior Ministry  stated.
