ArmInfo. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan knows very well that there is no peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The day before, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that we need to be prepared for war. Anna Mkrtchyan, a member of the RA National Assembly from the opposition faction With Honor, said this in an interview with journalists. According to her, a very clear formula for the Pashinyan-Aliyev relationship has been formed. The latter threatens the statehood of Armenia, and Pashinyan, in turn, threatens the Armenian people. Moreover, these threats have already been carried out more than once. "Since 2018, Nikol and Aliyev, comparing their steps, have constantly restrained the just anger of the Armenian people, directing their arrows against the national identity and self-preservation of the Armenian state," the deputy said, pointing to the thousands of political prisoners whose trials are held almost daily.
"The arrest of two archbishops, the extension of the arrest of a woman - political prisoner Lidiya Mantashyan, the arrest of the father of war hero Ara Rostomyan, the arrest of businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan: Nikol has found a formula according to which, by persecuting the Armenian people, he is trying to consolidate his power, since there are simply no other methods," the oppositionist said.
She pointed to the fact that over the past three or four days, the head of the Armenian government has been constantly talking about the possibility of peace with Azerbaijan, because he cannot deceive a part of Armenian society. "He knows very well that there can be no talk of any peace. Yesterday, Aliyev admitted that the document signed in Washington was written in Baku, which was imposed on Yerevan, it fully meets the interests of Azerbaijan. Moreover, he called Armenia a hostile state," Anna Mkrtchyan emphasized, adding that Nikol Pashinyan, who ignores the rights of the Armenian people in order to retain power, knows all this very well. "He chose himself as a victim of the Armenian people, constantly resorting to force and arrests in order to reproduce his power," the MP noted.
