ArmInfo.Gyumri commemorated the 15th anniversary of the restoration of the Hill of Honor - a memorial honoring Russian soldiers who died during the Caucasian Wars in the 19th century.
To mark this memorable date, various officials including the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Gyumri, the commander of the 102nd military base, the head of the Gyumri border detachment, and the vice-mayor of the city, laid flowers at the memorial. Titov highlighted the interconnected history of the Hill of Honor, the 102nd base, local border guards and the city of Gyumri, emphasizing their role in preserving Russian spiritual heritage in Armenia, showcasing the centuries-old friendship of the Russian and Armenian peoples and reminding the heroism of older generations. "Being here on the Hill of Honor, we clearly understand that the presence of Russian military in Gyumri is a natural continuation of history and the basis of strategic security in the South Caucasus," he emphasized.
