ArmInfo. Russia will not dare to open a second front against Azerbaijan. This was stated by former Foreign Minister Tofik Zulfugarov, according to Azerbaijani media.
The former head of the Foreign Ministry assured that "after the failures in Ukraine, the Kremlin is looking for new images of enemies." According to him, "in recent months, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have become special targets of Russian propaganda." Previously, these attacks were directed against the Baltic countries, NATO and France. "Russia will not dare to open a second front against Azerbaijan. This propaganda pressure will continue. So far, we only see the results, but over time the situation will become clear. There is a strong alliance between Azerbaijan and Turkey that protects us from any military threat. However, Russia has neither the courage nor the strength to open a second front," the former minister added.
Relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are going through hard times. After the arrest in Russia of members of an organized crime group - Russian citizens of Azerbaijani origin, accused of organizing contract killings on the territory of the Russian Federation, hysteria was thrown in Baku and in response, several Russian citizens were arrested under a far-fetched pretext, including journalists and ordinary citizens of the Russian Federation who visited this country for tourism purposes. Today, Azerbaijani businesses with connections to the criminal world are gradually closing down in the Russian Federation, a number of influential Azerbaijanis have been deprived of Russian citizenship and expelled from the country. In response, Azerbaijan threatened to begin supplying weapons to Ukraine. In addition, the Russian side has recently been launching massive strikes on Azerbaijani oil refineries on the territory of Ukraine.
