
ArmInfo. Yesterday, RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkyan, who was in Armenia on an official visit.
According to the press service of the RA President, Vahagn Khachaturyan welcomed his colleague, emphasizing the importance of developing bilateral friendly ties. He expressed confidence that the visit of the Iranian President will contribute to further deepening of relations between Armenia and Iran, as well as strengthening peace and stability in the region.
President Pezeshkyan, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and partnership.
During the meeting, the parties discussed possible ways to realize the existing potential for cooperation in political, economic, cultural and many other areas. A positive assessment was given to the bilateral agreements reached during the official visit and the documents signed, emphasizing that they will be fully implemented through joint efforts.
Vahagn Khachaturyan also noted that one of the striking examples of close Armenian-Iranian partnership is the impressive work of Iranian road construction companies on the Syunik section of the North-South transport corridor, which clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation and the high level of trust.
During the conversation, the general regional and geopolitical situation was also touched upon. In this context, the interlocutors touched upon the "Crossroads of the World" program put forward by Armenia.
The parties emphasized that the establishment of stable and long-term peace, the creation of trade routes based on the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of states will benefit the entire region.
