ArmInfo. On August 18, Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan's trial resumed at Avan district's criminal court of general jurisdiction.
Addressing the court, the archbishop noted that each interaction with the judicial and legal system only deepens his disappointment. "I had ever dealt with the judicial system before, but since June 27, it has become a nightmare for me, and there seems to be no end in sight," the archbishop noted.
"I am not afraid of your judicial team. Whether now, in 10 years or after my death, I will be acquitted. However, you will remain guilty, and your descendants will remain guilty, and you will be ashamed in front of them. Our arrest is a stigma and a disgrace for these authorities. But I do not understand what motivates you to become a participant in this disgrace. I pity you, just as I do for any Armenian who has committed a crime against a clergyman," the archbishop said, addressing the judge.
