The Armenian side has assured that no military personnel from other countries will be on the border, as stated by Iranian Consul General in Kapan Morteza Abedin Varamin in a conversation with journalists while commenting on the latest agreements between the United States, Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington.
"It doesn't matter who says what. What are important to us are Armenia's statements on this issue. And we were assured that Iran's "red lines" will be taken into account in these matters," the Consul General said, touching upon the conversation between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. He also pointed out that the absence of interference "from afar" would be in the interests of other countries in the region. However, , he noted that the Iranian side attaches great importance to the decisions taken in Armenia. "The Iran-Armenia border has a history of thousands of years, our countries have always had good relations. The Armenian side assured us that the border would be preserved. We, in turn, will continue to exercise our personal control and influence if necessary," the consul general concluded.
