ArmInfo. Experience shows that any document signed with Azerbaijan requires unilateral commitments from Armenia. This was reported by the civil initiative "Hayqve" in connection with the declaration signed on August 9 between the leaders of Armenia, the United States and Azerbaijan in Washington.
In this regard, "Hayaqve" recalled the agreement of November 9, 2020, according to which Armenia overfulfilled all its obligations, and Azerbaijan, in turn, violated everything.
"For example, Azerbaijan pledged to ensure unimpeded movement along the Berdzor corridor, to keep its armed forces in the positions they occupied at the end of the war, and not only. However, on September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan launched full-scale military operations against Artsakh. And there are many such examples," the civil initiative notes as an example.
In this regard, "Ayakva" expressed the conviction that Armenia does not benefit in any way from the trilateral Washington declaration. "And it is not even clear whether it will actually benefit from what is envisaged by the signed declaration or not," the civil initiative summarized.
Recall that on August 9, a trilateral meeting of the leaders of the United States, Armenia and Azerbaijan took place in the White House. Within the framework of this meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, US President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint declaration aimed at resolving the conflict between Yerevan and Baku.
Note that the signed declaration caused a negative reaction in opposition circles. Many experts are inclined to believe that in this way Armenia opened up opportunities for new concessions.
