ArmInfo. The issue of the Zangezur corridor has been removed from the agenda, since it is a transit road under the sovereignty of Armenia, but Tehran "has reasons to worry." Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
According to him, Iran is monitoring the situation. "The issue of the corridor has been completely put aside. We are talking about a transit road that will be created under the authority of Armenia, in its jurisdiction and on its territory... by an American-Armenian company that will be registered in Armenia under Armenian laws," the minister wrote.
Nevertheless, Araghchi continued, up to now the fundamental positions of the Iranian side have been observed, the Islamic Republic is monitoring the situation, and consultations will continue.
On August 9, the "Trump Route for Peace and Prosperity" project was signed in the United States, which, among other things, is aimed at ensuring transport links between Azerbaijan and its Nakhichevan autonomy through the territory of Armenia. Yerevan and Baku advocated for opening communications between the countries for domestic, bilateral and international transportation while respecting their sovereignty, territorial integrity and jurisdiction.
