ArmInfo. The Council for the Protection of the Rights of the Artsakh People will now operate as an open public movement, focusing on the 12 demands announced at the rally on March 29.
As reported by the press service of the Council, in connection with this decision, government officials and representatives from the five parliamentary factions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh will no longer be part of the Council. "This decision was made to ensure the public nature of the Council's activities and to avoid any potential connections with political structures. These circumstances also determined the decision to move the Council's office from the building of the representative office of the Republic of Artsakh," the Council for the Protection of the Rights of the Artsakh People clarified.
However, the Council reported that this does not exclude cooperation with the state institutions of the NKR on initiatives that serve the interests of the Artsakh people. In connection with the reorganization of the Council, the press service announced the changes to its composition, with new public figures being added based on their experience of these months and the activity of various organizations and figures. In addition, according to the source, new regional visits are planned in the near future, where Council teams will be created on the spot. The goal of these teams is to form a pan-Armenian agenda and ensure the unity of the Artsakh people. The Council for the Protection of the Rights of the Artsakh People also reported that it will soon make another statement highlighting the ongoing mistakes and omissions of the Armenian government, which further deepen and exacerbate the existing issues. "We urge all our concerned compatriots to actively participate in the work of the Council to jointly address and resolve the problems faced by the Artsakh people," the Council concluded.
