ArmInfo. The defense of former chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Vardan Harutyunyan is planning to file an appeal, as the charges against him are legally absurd, as stated by Harutyunyan's lawyer, Armen Andrikyan, in a conversation with journalists on August 8.
According to him, they do not yet have a final decision on the case, but they have received a court document indicating that they want to imprison the former chairman of the SRC for 2 months. The charges against him include abuse of office, implementation of an anti-competitive agreement, and money laundering. In this regard, the lawyer recalled that back in 2018, the investigator had already made a decision on this case, according to which no anticompetitive agreement had been found as a result of the investigation.
As Andrikyan clarified that evidence that had been refuted 7 years ago today was presented during the hearing today. "Given the current situation, the defense team intends to file an appeal. It is noteworthy that even in 2018, there were insufficient grounds to
summon Harutyunyan for questioning. However, today he is facing charges," the lawyer concluded.
