ArmInfo. Numerous information leaks indicate that not a single document signed in the US has any relevance to the realities of international politics. Political scientist Manvel Sargsyan discusses this issue, referring to the current meeting of the leaders of the US, Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington.
He pointed out that within the framework of this meeting, a certain document is expected to be signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan. However, Sargsyan believes that the goal of the US President is far from intending to resolve the contradictions between the countries. "Thus, Trump received another resource from the countries of the region to implement his "peace policy". And it is no coincidence that he has named his plan "Trump's Path to International Peace and Prosperity". He did not specifically reference Armenia and Azerbaijan for receiving the Nobel Prize. What they will sign with each other does not matter to anyone. It has nothing to do with the main issue," the political scientist believes.
Meanwhile, the political scientist believes that the entire process towards peace is actually a forceful cleansing of the paths to strength the United States. "That is, the path itself is more like a war in the hope of concluding peace under the auspices of the United States. The timing for obtaining a "tasty morsel" in the form of Syunik in the South Caucasus was chosen very well, as the Armenian authorities are clinging to peace at any cost, and Azerbaijan, surrounded by Russia and Iran, had no alternative but to join the US initiative approved by Armenia," the expert noted. According to him, a new global interaction hub has emerged on the delicate border of Armenia, in Syunik.
He recalled that the world has been in the process of destroying the previous structure of the world order since 1989. "Who will survive and who will lose, time will show. Usually, those who are able to participate in the formation of new realities survive," the political scientist believes. He also noted that if earlier the actions of world powers were aimed at building a new world order with the priority of sovereignty, territorial integrity and universal principles of human rights, then the formation of a new structure of the international order is happening, on the contrary, at their expense. "It is already noticeable that for such a radical redistribution, previously alien concepts such as "leasing of state territories", "forced displacement of peoples", "annexation of states" are being legitimized. At the same time, the principle of encouraging the once beloved idea of collective security only causes irritation and mistrust. So it would be better for no one to rush and think about how not to confuse peace with war," Sargsyan concluded.
