The Deputy Director of the National Center for Mental Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia and the Head of the Conscription Department of the said center, being the chairman and member of the commissions formed at the same enterprise to examine and treat citizens of pre-conscription and conscription age, are accused of receiving a bribe as part of a group of persons.
The Anti-Corruption Committee reports that the preliminary investigation has established that the above- mentioned officials, during the winter conscription of 2023, in order to establish a diagnosis of a citizen subject to conscription, who was examined between October 27, 2023 and January 31, 2024, to recognize him as unfit for military service, demanded and received a bribe from a relative of a conscript. $300-400 of this amount was transferred by the head of the conscription department to the deputy director on February 1, 2024.
The two above-mentioned officials were charged under Article 435, Part 2, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case has been completed, the materials of the criminal case have been sent to the Anti-Corruption Court of the Republic of Armenia with the indictment.
