


ArmInfo. On August 4, RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan, who is on a working visit to the city of Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan), met with Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref.
As reported by the press service of the RA President, the meeting was held within the framework of the Third Conference of Landlocked Countries. During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of continuous development of good-neighborly relations and multi-sectoral cooperation between the two countries, based on the centuries-old friendship of peoples.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to the prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, infrastructure, high technology and a number of other areas. Vahagn Khachaturyan highly appreciated the work carried out by the Iranian organization on the Meghri-Kajaran section of the North-South transport corridor, emphasizing its importance for the development of regional communications. The parties also exchanged views on the general regional situation and developments, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the principles of good-neighborliness, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence as the basis for stability and development of the entire region.
