ArmInfo. The issue of the road through Meghri was included in the ceasefire agreement of November 9, 2020 at the request of Azerbaijan. The second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan said this in an interview with Channel 5.
"I just have this information. The topic of this road became point 9 of the statement of November 9 at the request of Azerbaijan to create symmetry with the Lachin corridor.
We should not have lost, Azerbaijan did not have such an advantage, I tell you for sure. And he (the Prime Minister of Armenia - ed.), so to speak, destroyed the army under the slogans of improving the army, now he is doing the same with the church," Kocharyan noted.
Touching upon the arrest of Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhyan, who has opposition views, Kocharyan noted that there are red lines that this government easily crossed.
"I thought a lot, I still didn't understand what the connection is between the vow of celibacy and the country's security, I still haven't found this connection. Nikol Pashinyan finds it," Kocharyan noted. At the same time, he is sure that the prosecutor's office today is not part of the judicial and legal system, but a propaganda machine of the ruling force "Civil Contract".
Kocharyan's full interview, which touched upon issues of Armenia's security, as well as external and internal problems, will be aired on Channel 5 today, August 1, at 21:20, and will be available on all official platforms of the TV channel.
