


ArmInfo. The former head of the Sisian community of the Syunik region illegally sold land to his confidant, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia reports.
In particular, the former head of the community, violating the ban established by the Land Code, submitted for approval to the Council of Elders in September 2021, and having received consent, sold at auction about 4.6 hectares of public pastures located within the administrative boundaries of the community to one of his confidants. The cost of alienation of the pasture was 661 thousand drams, although its market value was about 16 million drams.
As a result of illegal actions, damage was caused to the legitimate interests of the community on an especially large scale.
The compiled materials were sent to the Anti-Corruption Committee. A criminal case has been opened under the article "Abuse of power or official authority, or use of influence obtained as a result of abuse by an official or exceeding official authority". "The circumstances are being clarified during the preliminary investigation", the statement says.
