ArmInfo. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded to the fountains' performance of the song 'Dolya Vorovskaya' ('The Thieves' Share') in Gyumri. RA Minister of Territorial Administration David Khudatyan decided to keep up with the 'trend' and also used foul language. 'The mood was picked up' by Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.
'A thief should be in prison, not fooling around with fountains,' Pashinyan wrote.
'Gyumri city authorities received a fountain <out of thin air> and now they don't know what to do with it. I wouldn't advise you to try to turn on the fountain again with a song praising today's shame, the criminal subculture. Armenia is a state, and the taste of the state should be felt in your mouth every day,' wrote Khudatyan (earlier, after Samvel Karapetyan's words of support for the Armenian Apostolic Church, Pashinyan wrote on social media: 'This is not the village of Nizhniy Tapir in Kaluga. This is the Republic of Armenia. I hope the taste of the state will remain in your mouth' - Ed.).
The RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan also responded to the incident, noting that the singing fountains of Gyumri were built at the expense of state funds within the framework of the 'Development of Tourism Infrastructure' program, becoming a key part of the Gyumri tourism cluster.
'It seems that Vardanik (Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan - ed.) and his entourage need to be reminded that they live in a state where criminal behavior is punishable by law,' Papoyan wrote on his Facebook page.
Meanwhile, the Gyumri mayor's office called the playback of the song 'Dolya Vorovskaya' from the fountains in the city center a technical failure. 'The specialist was unable to control the music due to technical problems in the system. As a result of the measures taken, the problem was resolved and an explanation was received from the person responsible for the operation of the facility. If necessary, disciplinary measures will be taken against him. We apologize to the residents of Gyumri for the inconvenience caused. The technical malfunction has been eliminated, and the mayor's office assures that control will be strengthened so that such incidents do not recur,' the mayor's office said in a statement.
