Zangezur Corridor project aimed at land encirclement of Iran and  Russia - opinion 

ArmInfo. The adviser to the Supreme Leader of Iran on international affairs, Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati, made important and frank statements regarding the "Zangezur Corridor" project promoted by the Azerbaijani-Turkish tandem, writes the Telegram channel Sepah Pasdaran. The publication notes that this  project is a trap to encircle Iran and Russia. "According to  Velayati, this project is not really aimed at regional integration,  economic stability or the well-being of the people. On the contrary,  it is planned with the aim of encircling Iran, Russia and the  Resistance Front by land.

Velayati indirectly warned that Tehran is responding to this threat  not only with words but also with actions: Iran has deployed military  forces to the borders and conducted exercises, demonstrating its "red  line", the era of passive and observational policy is over - now Iran  is following a strategy of preemption and active actions, the United  States, NATO, the Zionist regime and pan-Turkic circles are behind  this corridor," the resource writes.

The Meghri route is a project for a transport route about 40 km long  through the territory of the Syunik region of Armenia, which would  provide transport links between the western regions of Azerbaijan and  its exclave, the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. The opening of  transport routes in the region was envisaged by point 9 of the  trilateral statement of November 9, 2020 by the leaders of Russia,  Armenia and Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan is trying to distort  the essence of these agreements and obtain an extraterritorial  corridor
