
ArmInfo. Georgia is closely following the ongoing dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as stated by Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili during a briefing with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
"We discussed the importance of stability in the region. Georgia is closely following the dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We welcome the peace agreement, which we hope will be signed soon," the Georgian Foreign Minister noted, Georgia's First Channel reports.
According to Maka Bochorishvili, Georgia is genuinely interested in strengthening peace and stability in the region.
"We have always said and will repeat again: Georgia is interested in strengthening peace and stability in our region. We are pleased that on April 17 we had the opportunity to host a trilateral meeting. This was the first meeting of its kind, bringing deputy ministers of all three countries together in Tbilisi to discuss issues of regional importance. We believe that we have the potential to continue cooperation between the three countries in this format. The regional processes are indeed very important. In this context, cooperation and partnership between our countries are especially significant," the Georgian diplomat added. She added that the current geopolitical situation can be seen as a certain opportunity to expand collaboration with other regional nations, while safeguarding the interests of Georgia and Azerbaijan.
"This approach allows us to better leverage the potential our countries possess in this evolving conditions. Once again, thank you very much for the visit. I hope that we will meet again this year, and we will have more opportunities to actively cooperate and discuss all issues related to the friendship, partnership and cooperation between our two countries, as the better use of this cooperation in the regional context," Maka Bochorishvili said.
