Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the Sacred Struggle movement, previously detained for 2 months on charges of "terrorism and preparation for the seizure of power, has " filed lawsuits against political figures, seeking compensation for the moral damage caused by insult and slander.
According to the Datalex website of judicial acts, Galstanyan is pursuing a claim for 6 million drams in compensation from Vahagn Aleksanyan, member of the Civil Contract party and NA deputy. He is also seeking 3 million drams each from Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, Republic party leader Aram Sargsyan, Styopa Safaryan, member of the Council of Elders from the same party's list, and former NA deputy, political scientist Harutyun Mkrtchyan and Republic party members Ani Khachatryan and Hayk Sahakyan.
Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan was detained on June 26, 2025, for a period of 2 months. He is facing charges with "terrorism, mass riots and preparation for the seizure of power, " but he does not admit his guilt.
