ArmInfo. The potential gypsyization of Armenians may emerge as a new, logical national project. This is the assertion of Vahe Hovhannisyan, member of the Alternative Projects Group, in his article commenting on the 4.5-hour press conference held by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to the political scientist, two major projects were presented to the region and the Armenian people at this press conference: a sovereign non-state entity and the gypsyization of Armenians. "This is a clear political program, and it is necessary to respond to it exclusively with political formulas. In no case should it be underestimated, even if it is seasoned with several nuances. In the new architecture being created in the South Caucasus, Armenia is ready to be a sovereign non- state entity. This was actually said and the audience recorded it," noted Vahe Hovhannisyan.
He noted that ten years ago, Russia formulated for itself the concept of sovereign democracy and went in this direction. Turkey, Azerbaijan and Israel adopted the concept of sovereign unpredictability, Europe - sovereign uncertainty, Georgia - sovereign seriousness, and so on. "It is the turn of Armenia and its leader to clearly formulate their concept: sovereign gypsyization, which should become a new national project. Now there is a way to resist this: we need a clear political formula. I repeat, under no circumstances should we underestimate the projects presented by the current government, and we will not oppose them with the currently dominant counter-vocal. No counter-swearing, protests, curses, ridicule or threats will work against a clear political program. We need a serious, rational and honest alternative vision, and we need political and public groups of the masses to carry it. Do you think the people of Palestine or Gaza understood what could happen? Do you think the people of Artsakh understood this process and that in two days they would lose their homeland? Of course not! The leaders and the elite did not understand this until the last moment. The same will happen in Armenia in the event of this process.
The people come to understand after the fact, that they have suffered an unimaginable a catastrophe. A catastrophe born of cold, rational calculation in the offices of educated figures in ties. A catastrophe that includes the fact that people do not understand what is happening until the last moment. And, of course, what kind of catastrophe would be without empty calls from the international community, proposals for restraint for both sides and other nonsense. However, the reality is that the number of victims and ruined destinies reaches into the hundreds of thousands, all in plain view, in the 21st century. The same fate awaits us: bold concessions will be welcomed. Armenia has every opportunity to resist this prospect. This will require one thing: program leadership, politically correct groups of people and an honest dialogue with its own people," Vahe Hovhannisyan emphasized.
