
ArmInfo. On July 17 in Dilijan, RA Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan participated in a discussion on "Ensuring the Right to Education of Representatives of National Minorities ". The event was organized by the RA National Assembly Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs with the support of the UN Development Program (UNDP) Office in Armenia. As reported by the Ombudsman's Office, special attention was paid to the organization of education for representatives of national minorities in Armenia, along with issues related to ensuring their right to general and higher education. In her speech, the Human Rights Defender emphasized that protecting and promoting of the rights of national minorities require a systematic approach and collaboration among various stakeholders.
"The right to education is crucial for preserving the identity of national minorities and their full participation in public life. It is a priority for us to ensure this right not only in legal terms, but also in practice. In this context, the issue of training specialists to teach the languages of national minorities is also important and remains a challenging task. We must solve these issue through collective efforts," Anahit Manasyan noted.
During the discussion, the participants touched upon legal acts governing this area, difficulties in training professional personnel, and the lack of educational literature and specialized materials for national minorities. They also emphasized the significance of enhancing inclusiveness in the educational environment based on the principles of diversity and equal opportunities.
