Prime Minister calls the narrative about Samvel Karapetyan creating a political force fake: Armenia is not a puppet theater

ArmInfo. According to Armenian legislation, a person with three citizenships cannot run for either MP or Prime Minister. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this during a press conference, in response to a statement made by head of the Tashir Group of Companies Samvel Karapetyan, who is currently in prison, about the creation of a new political force.

He noted that  it has become a trend in countries like Armenia to start political activities when facing legal issues. "This is a trick, maybe not a bad one, but a trick," the head of government noted. Pashinyan expressed his belief that this narrative is fake. He mentioned that similar cases have already been observed in the country, but everyone saw what ultimately came out of it all. Political activity, according to Pashinyan, entails participating in elections for the National Assembly, the Council of Elders, and the post of Prime Minister. Otherwise, it is considered as public activity.
