Pashinyan: Armenia`s accession to SCO fits into logic of  balanced and balancing policy

ArmInfo. Armenia's accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) fits into the logic of our policy  balanced and balancing approaches, as stated by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference on July 16.

According to him, Armenia has applied for a membership in the SCO. Pashinyan mentioned that the country  had observer status in this structure. "So it is not that we came from scratch, had no voting rights there and suddenly decided to become  a member of this organization. Moreover, this is also related to the significant and structural changes taking place in the organization, as the issue of abolishing the observer or associate member status is being discussed. Armenia wants to have partners in the west, east, south and north," the RA Prime Minister noted.
