


ArmInfo. From July 8 to 11, the 109th session of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) was held in The Hague. The delegation of the Republic of Armenia, led by the Head of the International Security Department of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Arman Hovhannisyan, participated in the session.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, during the session, the head of the Armenian delegation delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of enhancing multilateral cooperation in implementing the provisions of the Chemical Weapons Convention. He also reaffirmed Armenia's unwavering commitment to the goals and objectives of the Convention, which includes the complete elimination of the use of chemical weapons and related hazardous substances.
Arman Hovhannisyan presented Armenia's stance on key issues on the Organization's agenda, emphasizing Armenia's consistent and constructive position within the framework of the OPCW. He also expressed Armenia's willingness for more active participation in the Organization's activities.
During the session, representatives of the Armenian delegation held several working meetings. During these discussions, views were exchanged on current agenda items and member States' stances in relevant areas.
