ArmInfo. The Council of the National Democratic Pole Party condemns the plan to open communications through the territory of Armenia, which violates the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia as a result of the Russian-Turkish- Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia in 2020-2023, and the subsequent statement of November 9, 2020.
At the same time, the NDP Council declares that the opening of communications in the region and the real, informal peaceful coexistence of peoples are the desire and goal of the entire Armenian people.
Real peace can be achieved only with the manifestation of mutual goodwill of the parties and the presence of a number of conditions, including recognition of the fact of ethnic cleansing of the Armenians of Artsakh by Azerbaijan and the implementation of their right to return to their native cradle under security guarantees from international peacekeepers, the return of Armenians taken prisoner during the conflict, the return of the occupied territories of Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions, mutual unblocking of infrastructure passing through Nakhichevan and connecting Armenia and Iran.
"Today's reality does not indicate the formation of the necessary atmosphere of mutual trust. The aggressor side, violating international law and its obligations to peacefully resolve the conflict, has subjected the Armenians of Artsakh to ethnic cleansing and continues, on the one hand, the destruction of the Armenian Christian heritage, and on the other, its appropriation.
Azerbaijan daily demonstrates undisguised ambitions towards the remaining parts of Armenia and, moreover, demands changes to the Constitution of Armenia, the destruction of the symbols of the Armenian people and the rewriting of Armenian history. In such an atmosphere, the conclusion of any "peace" will be formal, and the exploitation of any infrastructure will become a new pretext for the continuation of Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia," the NDP party council said in a statement.
