ArmInfo. The logic of any connection with the extraterritorial status of this or that corridor contradicts the Republic of Armenia's vision on unblocking regional infrastructures and improving connectivity. Accordingly, such an agreement cannot exist, as stated in the response of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to a written request from Factor.am, addressing the question of whether the information spread in the Turkish media about an alleged agreement reached by Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan on the so-called "Zangezur corridor" corresponds to reality. The MFA noted that unblocking transportation infrastructures continues to be an important priority for Armenia. The ministry recalled that Armenia has proposed its vision of regional connectivity - the "Crossroads of Peace" project, which received positive assessments from several international partners. "Moreover, Armenia has proposed a number of solutions aligned with this initiative that may be acceptable to all parties involved. At the same time, various international partners also periodically present their ideas on the normalization of Armenian- Azerbaijani relations, including unblocking the transport infrastructure between the two countries," the Foreign Ministry said in a response, adding that negotiations are ongoing with all interested parties to achieve mutually beneficial and potentially complementary results in the region.
The publication recalls that the Turkish newspaper Turkiye Today, citing unconfirmed statements circulating on the Internet from Azerbaijani resources, claims that Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan have come to an agreement on the so-called "Zangezur Corridor." Recently, Turkish President Erdogan said that "although Armenia initially opposed the "Zangezur Corridor," it is now demonstrating a more flexible approach to participating in the economic integration process." Erdogan emphasized that the development of the region is important not only for Azerbaijan and Armenia, but also for Turkey, Iran and other countries. According to him, the Zangezur Corridor holds significance not just from an economic standpoint, but also from a geopolitical perspective.
