Starting January 1, citizenship  services for both obtaining and terminating citizenship will be digitized- MIA

ArmInfo. Starting from January 1, 2026, the  process of obtaining and renouncing RA citizenship will be digitized, as announced by the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

As the source notes,  the amendments to the Law "On Citizenship" will result in a new system for accepting applications for citizenship procedures at the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia starting from January 1, 2026. Consequently,  the migration.e-gov.am platform will no longer offer this service  from January 1. A new electronic system to facilitate the application process for RA citizenship, including a preliminary review of applications.  After that, applicants will have the opportunity to queue up for submitting applications for obtaining or renouncing RA citizenship.
