


ArmInfo. Law enforcement officers of Armenia have seized a large batch of drugs from the shadow economy.
According to the press service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, on July 7 at 15:20 on Mazmanyan Street in Yerevan, two men from Dzoraghbyur and a woman from Yerevan were detained. They were taken to the Erebuni community police department along with a Ford car driven by a 40-year-old man. During a personal search, an IV drip with traces of ash and a folding knife were found on the driver. As part of the criminal case initiated by the court decision, a search was conducted in the house of a 40-year-old man, where various narcotic substances in especially large quantities were found, in particular, 3 kilograms 742 grams of opium, 1 kilogram 850 grams of marijuana, 596 grams of methamphetamine, 256 grams of hashish and 10 methadone tablets, as well as two cartridges for a machine gun. Thus, thanks to the identified volumes, narcotics worth about 216 million drams were withdrawn from circulation. All three were taken to a pre-trial detention center.
Forensic chemical and ballistic examinations have been ordered. The circumstances are being clarified during the preliminary investigation.
