Armenian Ombudsperson signals a violation of lawyers` right to access  their clients in the preliminary investigation body

ArmInfo.  Armenian Ombudsperson Anahit Manasyan reports that on July 8, 2025, she received a number  of calls to the human rights defender's hotline from lawyers, They reported that the preliminary investigation body had not granted them  access to their detained clients for several hours.

As reported by the press service of the Armenian Ombudsman's office,   Manasyan emphasized  the importance of  a lawyer's right to access  their client is key in ensuring the full implementation of individual  rights. She expressed serious concern about the situation, which  hinders lawyers from protecting the rights of their clients. In  response to the incident, Manasyan urged the heads of the relevant  authorities to address the issue promptly and emphasized the need for  urgent resolution.
