ArmInfo. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC Narek Karapetyan was taken to the company's head office by the National Security Service.
Early in the morning of July 8, law enforcement officers broke into the head office of ESA, where they are conducting searches. Previously, similar actions were carried out in the house of Narek Karapetyan, who is the nephew of the president of Tashir Group of Companies Samvel Karapetyan. ESA is part of the GC.
Recall that the president of Tashir Group of Companies Samvel Karapetyan was detained on June 18 at night in Yerevan by law enforcement agencies of Armenia after he expressed support for the Armenian Apostolic Church. In response to this, there were open threats from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and then, at his suggestion, a bill was put on the agenda of the National Assembly (today adopted by the parliament in the first reading), which lays the foundation for the nationalization of Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC (part of Tashir Group).
Soon after Karapetyan's arrest, the Public Services Regulatory Commission hastily convened and fined Electric Networks 10 million drams for technical and commercial violations recorded. At the same time, the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia conducted inspections at 30 locations of Pizza Tashir LLC cafes, "based on a relevant appeal." In some of them, "gross violations of sanitary and hygienic norms established by legal acts were revealed," and production activities were suspended.
