ArmInfo. The head of the Civil Contract party, who holds the post of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, in order to maintain his power, goes beyond his authority, illegally interferes or usurps the exclusive powers of law enforcement agencies. This was stated by the former human rights defender of Armenia, the head of the Tatoyan Foundation, Arman Tatoyan.
According to him, in other words, these powers belong exclusively to these bodies, and the Prime Minister is prohibited from doing what he does.
Tatoyan believes that law enforcement agencies should not allow the Civil Contract party to turn them into a tool for protecting their interests with its actions that destroy statehood. "The head of the executive power, giving open political instructions to law enforcement agencies, discredits them - to the point of giving instructions on what they can and cannot do.
This is done in an organized manner: some deputies of the Civil Contract party immediately begin to justify and disseminate these instructions. Their obsession with political power is so great that they do not even think that the status of the prime minister is a trump card confirming the illegality of the actions of each of them.
Thus, the foundations of the rule of law are destroyed, checks and balances - the mechanisms of a democratic state - cease to work. As a result, everyone, including bodies that should be independent from the government, begin to serve one person and one party," the human rights activist added.
Tatoyan is confident that no matter what investigative or pre-investigative actions are carried out in relation to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the head of the Civil Contract party, who holds the post of prime minister, already puts the stamp of illegality on them with his illegal intervention. "This is evidence that a party and one-man government have been established in the country," he noted.
