Lawyer: Any new action by security forces at the Mother See of Holy  Etchmiadzin will be considered a "deliberate encroachment"

ArmInfo. Lawyer Aram Vardevanyan has commented on rumors about possible new attempts by the country's law enforcement to conduct searches at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

"There is information that we may again witness a repeat of the  events that occurred on June 27, 2025. That is, they are again saying  that law enforcement agencies will once again attempt to surround our  Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

I sincerely  hope that we will not have to witness this scene again.  I sincerely want Holy Etchmiadzin to be seen as a red line by law  enforcement agencies.My hope and desire stem not only from our  history, our values, but also from the constitutional status of the  Armenian Apostolic Holy Church itself," Vardevanyan wrote on his  Facebook page.

Additionally, he emphasized that any action carried out under the  Criminal Procedure Code, must be both proportionate and necessary to  be considered legal, "According to these standards and international  legal norms, any such new action taken at the Mother See of Holy  Etchmiadzin would be deemed  a "deliberate encroachment," the lawyer  wrote.
