ArmInfo.Armenian wrestlers returned from the European Freestyle Wrestling Championships among boys under 20 with one gold and one bronze medal, and the Armenian team finished fourth in the team standings.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MOESCS) of Armenia, the championship took place in Italy. Sargis Begoyan won the championship title in the 61 kg weight category. He successfully defeated representatives from Ukraine, Germany and Switzerland, reaching the final with a score of 6:5. In the final fight, Begoyan met with Russian Adlan Saitiev, who competes under the flag of United World Wrestling (UWW), and won, earning the gold medal.
In turn, Razmik Yepremyan secured the bronze medal in the weight category up to 86 kg. He achieved a convincing victory over the representative from Azerbaijan with a score of 3:0. The MoESCS also recalled that earlier, Gaspar Terteryan, a member of the Armenian youth team (72 kg), in Greco-Roman wrestling won the silver medal at the European Championship among boys under 20, and Samvel Terteryan (77 kg) took home the bronze medal.
