Kremlin: Moscow and Baku should remain partners and allies

"Our embassies and  diplomatic departments are in regular touch with  the Azerbaijani side and are defending the interests of the detained  Russians, using all opportunities provided by law and existing  diplomatic practices," Peskov told journalists, in respond to a  question about the level of dialogue between Russia and Azerbaijan,  RIA Novosti reports.  According to him, the head of the Investigative  Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, and  Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov, are in  contact with Kamran Aliyev, Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan.

He emphasized that any issue that arise should be resolved in a  constructive manner to uphold the general spirit of the existing  bilateral relations. Peskov added that Moscow and Baku should remain  partners and allies. "We remain supporters. We believe that logic  dictates only one thing:  Russia and Azerbaijan are and should  continue to be, the closest partners, allies and countries united by  a common history,  present and  future," he added.
