Alen Simonyan believes that Catholicos of All Armenians will soon  vacate Patriarchal throne

ArmInfo. Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan is convinced that the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II will soon vacate the Patriarchal throne. He made this statement on July 4 in a conversation with journalists, without specifying the source of his confidence.  When asked how the  authorities plan to remove the Catholicos if he does not voluntarily  abdicate the throne, Simonyan replied: I am confident that Ktrich  Nersisyan (secular name Karekin II - ed.) if not today, not tomorrow,  will come to the realization that he must vacate the Patriarchal  throne, and that elections must be held.

"I am sure that he will eventually come to this wisdom," he said,  assuring that the ruling Civil Contract party does not have a  candidate for the Patriarchal throne.
