ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Swedish Ambassador Patrik Svensson, who is completing his diplomatic mission in the republic.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Mirzoyan emphasized Svensson's significant contribution to the development and strengthening of Armenian-Swedish relations as the country's first resident ambassador to Armenia, adding that his tenure in this post coincided with a difficult period in the world and especially for Armenia.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the significant intensification of the political dialogue between Armenia and Sweden in recent years, the expansion of cooperation both in the format established with the EU and with the Nordic and Baltic countries, as well as the expansion of trade and economic ties. Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation with Sweden in the development of democratic institutions in Armenia, as well as the support provided to those forcibly displaced from Nagorno- Karabakh.
The interlocutors emphasized the existence of a clear mutual understanding between the countries regarding the prospects for developing partnership. For effective work and contribution to the development of bilateral relations, Mirzoyan awarded the ambassador with the Medal of Honor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wishing him success in his future activities.
