


ArmInfo. On July 2, political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Belgium were held in Yerevan. As reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, the consultations were chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan and Director General for Bilateral Relations of the Foreign Ministry of Belgium Birgit Stevens.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues on the Armenia-Belgium bilateral agenda, emphasizing their willingness to expand multi-sector cooperation. Kostanyan emphasized the importance of enriching bilateral relations with new strategic directions.
The interlocutors touched upon the ongoing steps to deepen the comprehensive and ambitious agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, and noted the active interaction formed on international platforms. Kostanyan briefed the current state of the Armenia-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Turkey normalization processes, emphasizing Armenia's political will to normalize relations with its neighbors.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on several issues on the regional and international agenda.The preparatory work for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP-17) and the 8th Summit of the European Political Community, to be held in Armenia in 2026, were also discussed.
