ArmInfo. Over the next 2 weeks, the Council on Constitutional Reforms, operating under the Ministry of Justice, will hold discussions regarding the text of the new Constitution of Armenia. This was announced to journalists by Armenian Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan during a briefing on July 3.
She refused to disclose any details of the upcoming meeting, noting only that the Council will discuss the ideological foundations of the new Constitution, that is, the conceptual provisions that underlie it.
If agreement is reached on a number of provisions during these discussions, according to the Minister, work on the text of the new Constitution will continue. The deadlines, as Galyan noted, remain the same - the text is planned to be finalized after 10 months.
When asked whether the reference to the Declaration of Independence will remain in the preamble of the new Constitution, she noted that a decision on this matter will be made only after the Council's discussions
